I know "Wake Up Little Susie" was covered by the Grateful Dead on several occasions.

This is sad . I love their records, especially the early one on Cadence . I was talking about surviving 50's era rock n' roll stars, basically who is left, and brought up the Everlys as still being around . Not now . The first pop/rock song I remember hearing was one of theirs , "All I Have to do Is Dream" , in 1962 . My father had just registered me for kindergarten, and as we walked out the back of the old San Juan Capistrano School office (soon replaced with the red brick building that is there still), someone was working on someting hammering , they had a radio on, and I remember this song being played .
It is odd I remember this, but it is rather clear .

I saw Simon & Garfunkel in 2003. The first set was kind of plodding and overall not too energetic. Then the Everly Brothers came out unannounced and did a set of their music and blew S&G away...

That performance did seem to give a shot in the arm for Simon and Garfunkel. They returned for a more inspired 2nd set.
